The Los Angeles Chargers have continued to push forward in what has become an impressive 2018 campaign with them being in play of possibly securing the top overall seed in the AFC playoff picture.
This has also garnered a strong following for the franchise that has only grown with their increasing success on the field. It’s something that star running back Melvin Gordon has taken note stating that he has noticed that there are plenty of bandwagon fans onboard with the team at this point, according to Kimberly A. Martin of Yahoo Sports.
Ask the 25-year-old and he’ll tell you point-blank: The Bolts bandwagon is legit now.
“Oh, it’s in full effect. For sure,” Melvin told Yahoo Sports, referring to his trip to Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California, just three days after the Chargers’ dramatic 29-28 prime-time win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chargers have all the momentum in their favor following a huge 29-28 road win over the Kansas City Chiefs last Thursday where they overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Los Angeles has shown that they can go to battle with any team in the league that has seen them continue to take steps in the right direction.
They have arguably the most balanced team on both sides of the ball that has made it difficult for opposing teams to game plan against them. The Chargers have an opportunity in front of them to pounce on this momentum toward making a serious push to the Super Bowl that may include a first-round bye and home-field advantage on through the AFC Championship game if they were to move that far.
Nonetheless, this is a certainly a good problem to have for the Chargers as it means the team is finally getting the recognition that their play on the field deserves.
