Former Arkansas TE Hunter Henry may return for Chargers this season

Hunter Henry may play in 2018, after all.

The former Arkansas tight end has a chance to return for the Los Angeles Chargers next month despite initially being ruled out for the year after tearing his ACL in May, according to an ESPN report. Though the report characterized Henry’s potential return as a “longshot,” the 6-2 Chargers are considering bringing him back to a bolster their playoff push.

Henry is on Los Angeles’ reserve-physically unable to perform list after suffering the knee injury in a non-contact drill during OTAs. But sources cited by ESPN claimed that the former Razorback is recovering well and has a positive attitude.

Over his first two years in the NFL, Henry caught 81 passes for 1,057 yards and 12 touchdowns. He’ll only add to those outstanding totals if he’s actually able to return for the Chargers this season.
