Chargers Re-Sign LB Hayes Pullard; Waive K Michael Badgley

A familiar face is back with the Bolts as the Chargers announced Tuesday that they re-signed linebacker Hayes Pullard. To make room, the team waived kicker Michael Badgley.

A 6-0, 235-pound four-year vet, Pullard appeared in 13 games a year ago for the Chargers after being claimed off waivers just prior to the start of the season. He saw the most extensive action of his career in L.A., starting 10 games while recording a career-high 79 tackles to go along with two tackles for loss and one interception.

Pullard initially entered the NFL as the Cleveland Browns’ seventh-round pick (219th overall) out of USC in the 2015 NFL Draft. After being waived, he spent the next two seasons in Jacksonville under then head coach and now Chargers defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. The Inglewood, CA native appeared in 24 games with two starts for the Jaguars, tallying 24 total tackles with one tackle for loss.

Meanwhile, Badgley served as the Bolts’ kicker while Caleb Sturgis nursed a quad injury. He connected on three field goals and seven extra points in back-to-back wins over the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans.
