Chargers Heading to Baltimore on Wild Card Weekend

“Baltimore’s a good football team,” Head Coach Anthony Lynn said on Sunday. “I think they’ve proven that over the last six weeks or so. We’re somewhat familiar with this team, played them a couple weeks ago, so (we) look forward to it again.”

This marks the second time the two teams will meet as the Ravens topped the Bolts, 22-10, in Week 16.

In the immediate aftermath of that loss, the Chargers weighed in on the possibility of playing the Ravens in the postseason. They know it won’t be easy, but they weren’t shying away from a rematch, either.

“Depending on what happens, we may have another crack at them in two weeks,” Philip Rivers said. “We’ve got to get over it quick. That’s gone, so move on to the next step. We need to have a better week this week (of) preparation and finish the regular season right. Then see where we go. Odds are, it’s Pittsburgh or Baltimore, so we’ll know that here in about eight days.”

The Bolts were going to have a rematch against either team.

However, as Mike Pouncey noted, there’s a difference in mindset when you have another crack against a team that beat you.

“Of course (you want another shot at a team after you lose to them),” added Pouncey. “It came down until the very end of the game, and we didn’t play well, so yeah we’ll see how it goes (next time). But whoever’s going to line up in front of us in the playoffs, we’ll be ready.”
