Chargers DE Joey Bosa eyeing return, 2018 debut after Week 8 bye

The Los Angeles Chargers head into their bye week after escaping London with a 20-19 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Despite another impressive performance from Philip Rivers, it was Marcus Mariota failing to target a wide open Dion Lewis in the flat for an easy two-point conversion that ultimately decided the game.

Oh well. This is the NFL, not the NCAA. You do not get extra credit or style points. A win is a win.

The Chargers sit at second place in the AFC West. They have won four consecutive games and will fly back to the states to enjoy a much needed week of rest to prepare for the stretch run. The bye week seems to have come at the right time, as defensive end Joey Bosa eyes a November 4th return to the gridiron when they will travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks.

Bosa did not play a single snap during the preseason. He was expected to return early in the regular season, but a setback occurred and now Bosa and the team aim for Week 9. If he returns after the bye week as scheduled, expect him to play limited snaps for a few games as he gets himself back into football condition.

Bosa finished seventh in the league last season with 12.5 sacks and was selected to his first Pro Bowl. The team is excited to pair him up with defensive end Melvin Ingram, fielding what could be the best pass rush duo in the league.

The Chargers are currently at a record of 5-2 and look to keep pace with the Kansas City Chiefs and their juggernaut offense.
