3 potential Los Angeles Chargers prospects to watch in Pinstripe Bowl

January is upon us, which means that we are getting closer to the 2019 NFL draft. With the bowl season underway, the enticing games that boast top talent have begun.

Among those is the 2018 Pinstripe Bowl, which features Wisconsin and Miami. The Chargers have a history of selecting a variety of players from both schools.

With that being said, here are three prospects to watch for this afternoon when the two teams meet:

The tackle position is very questionable as left tackle Russell Okung has shown signs of regression, right tackle Joe Barksdale is no longer on the team, and Sam Tevi has been underwhelming as a starter.

Edwards is a great athlete with an impressive frame. Edwards plays with power and aggression. As a pass blocker, he uses his length to wall off pass rushers and keep them in front of him. His punch is strong enough to get the edge rushers off balance to gain the initial advantage.

The Wisconsin product is a beast in the run game. He covers a lot of ground with his first step, which enables him to cut down angles and latch on. Edwards is capable of winning the battle at the point of attack, moving the defender off the line and out of the hole to create running lanes for his ball carrier.

I have an early second round grade on Edwards at the moment, but he’d be a great option for Los Angeles at the end of the first round, where they will likely be picking.
